In exercise of the Powers conferred under the provisions of Section 55
of the Northern India Canal and Drainage Act 1873 and all other powers
enabling him in this behalf, the Governor of Punjab is pleased to notify that it is
mandatory for the Developers, Companies, Builders, Government Departments/Boards/Corporations/Town Planner or any other organization to
obtain “No Objection Certificate” (NOC) for drainage from Department of Water
Resources before construction of any new site/project or extension of such
existing projects which lie within 150 meters from the outer edge/bank of
river/drain/choe or any other natural or manmade water body.
2.0 The competent authorities for approval of layouts/site plan/building plans shall ensure that such approval is obtained from Drainage Administration of Water Resources Department.
